High-Field MRI

Available in Bridgeton

Forms

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) uses a magnetic field and radio waves to produce pictures and does not use radiation.

MRI provides detailed images in any plane through the body and is particularly good for looking at the brain, spine, pelvis and extremities/joints (shoulders, knees, etc.), as well as looking at cerebral blood vessels and carotid arteries utilizing MRA techniques.

What is the difference between an Open MRI and a High Field MRI?
An open MRI is designed to reduce the chance of claustrophobia, yet the low field magnet often reduces the quality and types of examinations that can be performed. CDI’s High Field Short Bore MRI utilizes a much stronger magnet, enabling high resolution images, more detailed studies and allows for shorter scan times.

Scheduling High Field MRI Appointments
When you call to schedule an appointment for an MRI scan, we will need to know the following information:

  • Patient's Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Home Phone Number
  • Complete insurance information
  • Area of the body to be studied, and reason for exam
  • Referring Physician (Please notify us if a copy of the report needs to be sent to another physician)
