VINELAND, NJ (May 8, 2008) – The Center for Diagnostic Imaging (CDI), a premier diagnostic imaging practice providing high-quality, cost-effective radiology services, was recently labeled a “model site” for complete, well-organized and accurate mammography testing and documentation by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) during its annual inspection. All mammography facilities must be inspected and certified by the FDA on a yearly-basis to implement regulations set forth by the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA). The MQSA was enacted in 1992 to ensure that all women have access to quality mammography for the detection of breast cancer at its earliest, most treatable stages.
“CDI is a leader in providing the most advanced and thorough digital mammography services in the region,” said Steven Rothfarb, MD, a board-certified member of CDI’s medical staff. “We were the first in Cumberland County to offer digital mammography to aid in the fight against breast cancer and we are proud to be named a model site for these important imaging services.”
CDI was compliant in every aspect of the MQSA report including equipment performance, technologist quality control, medical outcome analysis records, mammography reports and films and personnel qualifications and records.
“The results from this inspection are a result of our staff’s dedication to excellent patient care and our commitment to bringing advanced medical imaging modalities to Cumberland County,” said Ernesto Go, MD of CDI.
CDI is committed to the fight against breast cancer. If you would like to schedule a mammogram or have questions about this important breast health procedure, please contact CDI at 856-794-1700.
