Computed Tomography (CT) uses x-rays and a computer to produce a series of
pictures or slices through any part of the body (from the brain to the
foot).
Contrast agents may be used intravenously or by mouth to see blood
vessels, intestines, kidneys or lymph glands more clearly.
Our GE Helical
CT Scanner allows us to scan the area of interest in a volumetric acquisition
versus one slice at a time which decreases the time it takes to perform the
study. |
