Dual Energy X-ray Absorption (DEXA) or bone densitometry is used to assist in
the diagnosis of Osteoporosis.
The scanner passes over the lower spine,
wrist or hip and measures the density of the bone.
Osteoporosis screening
has led to the earlier diagnosis of this disease sometimes before symptoms
