Frequently Asked QuestionsDo I need to bring previous studies from other facilities?
If you have had previous studies at another facility, it is best to bring
them with you at the time of your appointment. This will prevent a delay in
reporting your findings as well as being able to compare the old findings with
the most recent study.
What is MRI and what is the difference between High Field and Open MRI?
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) uses a powerful magnetic field and radio
frequency waves to provide a computer assisted image of the body. The
difference between High Field & Open MRI is the field strength of the
magnetic field. Our OPEN MRI scanner performs high quality studies that are
comparable to High Field systems.
Does my study require an injection?
Certain studies require an intravenous injection of contrast material
(iodine based material for CT while MRI uses a gadolinium based chelate). This
injection will give our radiologist additional information to provide a more
detailed diagnosis.
Can I order my own X-rays?
All x-ray procedures need to be ordered by a physician or nurse
practitioner. Therefore, you will need to obtain a prescription/referral from
your doctor or nurse practitioner, as it is against the law to order your own
studies.
